Educators from across the State of Ohio helped the Department of Education develop the Model Curriculum following the adoption of Ohio’s Learning Standards in 2017. A month-long survey was completed in September of 2017 that sought insight from the public, as well as educators on suggested changes to the model curriculum for K-12. These suggestions were incorporated into the model curriculum, where appropriate. The State Board of Education adopted the model curriculum in February 2018.
