Principal's Message

Dear Garfield Middle School Parent(s) and Guardian(s), 

I want to take a quick moment and introduce myself. My name is Josh Margerum, and I will be the Principal of Garfield Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. 

As a former Hamilton High School graduate, I have been fortunate enough to come back and work in this great community.  I started my career in education as an 8th grade teacher at Wilson Middle School where I taught mathematics and social studies.  I had the opportunity to coach basketball, football, softball, track, and volleyball over the course of that time from the middle school level all the way to the varsity level at Hamilton High.  After teaching, I spent 8 years at the elementary level as an administrator, including 6 years as Riverview Elementary’s principal.  This school year will mark my third year as Garfield’s principal.   

One thing I truly believe is that we cannot be successful without the continued support from our families.  We want to welcome you all to Garfield Middle School and we are excited to work together in order to provide our students with the best school experience possible.
